Thank you for the opportunity to make this brief submission to the Joint Select Committee’s inquiry into Australia’s Family Law System. The ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ is established by the ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Act 1986 (Cth) and is Australia’s national human rights institution.
This submission refers to previous work of the Commission highlighting human rights issues relevant to the family law system. As National ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ’s Commissioner, I wish to draw the Committee’s attention to some of the issues and recommendations relating to the rights and wellbeing of children in the family law system, relevant to terms (f) and (h) of the Committee’s inquiry.
